The Healer, a flying unit, becomes available at Barracks level 8, requiring a Town Hall level of 6. Unlike other troops, the Healer lacks attacking capabilities but compensates by offering healing support to ground troops.
When deployed, the Healer emanates a pulsating circular aura, healing the nearest damaged unit or Hero, prioritizing them until destruction. Notably, Healers do not heal air units, Siege Machines, or defend themselves against enemy attacks.
Defensive Considerations
On defense, Healers are vulnerable to single-target and Air Defenses. Placing Air Defenses centrally and protected by Walls enhances their longevity, preventing swift destruction by ground troops like Giants. Despite their 14 housing space, Healers are not recommended for defensive Clan Castle requests, given their limited impact on defense.
Offensive Strategies
To maximize offensive effectiveness:
- Air Defense Priority: Destroy or disable Air Defenses before deploying Healers, ensuring they are out of harm’s way.
- Hero Walks: Conducting a Hero Walk with Healers can increase survivability. Strategies like Queen Walk, Warden Walk, Champion Walk, or King Walk cater to different hero types.
- Seeking Air Mines: Test for Seeking Air Mines with Balloons before a Hero Walk to safeguard Healers from potential damage.
- Rage Spells: Boost Healer Healing Per Second (HPS) with Rage Spells during Hero Walks, enhancing hero survivability against defenses.
Defensive Strategies
Defensively, safeguard Healers by:
- Strategic Air Defense Placement: Centralize Air Defenses, protecting them from ground troop interference.
- Seeking Air Mines: Place Seeking Air Mines strategically to counter Healers, particularly when defending against ground attacks.
Upgrade Differences
The Healer undergoes visual transformations at various levels:
- Initial Level: White angelic wings, short white hair, and a golden dress with a four-sided star.
- Level 3: Aura and dress change to a bright magenta color.
- Level 4: Aura reverts to yellow while the dress remains the same.
- Level 5: Aura turns white, dress becomes light blue, and a light blue headband is added.
- Level 7: Introduces a blue tiara, dual auras pulsating in anti-phase.
- Level 8: Wings turn bright yellow, headband changes to a hollow triangle, and auras differ in color, one being yellow and the other bright lavender.
Understanding the Healer’s strengths and weaknesses is crucial for both offensive and defensive success in Clash of Clans.

Healer Trivia
Cultural Naming
In the Chinese language setting, the Healer is referred to as “Angel,” a fitting title given the unit’s resemblance to an angelic figure.
Maximum Deployment
Fully upgraded Army Camps allow for a maximum of 22 Healers, increasing to 25 when including the 3 that fit into a level 9 or higher Clan Castle. The addition of Clone Spells can potentially summon an extraordinary total of 37 Healers on the battlefield. While having such a large number is discouraged due to the lack of offensive capabilities, a Town Hall 13 strategy involving mass Healers with all four heroes becomes feasible.
Softlock Prevention
To prevent player softlocks after a 90-day absence, an all-Healer army will be automatically replaced by a different army composition upon the player’s return, ensuring a functional and recoverable base.
Healing Prioritization
Although Healers typically have no preferred target, a September 16, 2014 update introduced a prioritization mechanism, causing Healers to focus on healing larger groups of troops.
Maximum Healing Efficiency
Due to diminishing returns with additional Healers, the maximum healing per second on any troop (excluding Rage Spells) is precisely 5 times that of a single Healer’s healing per second. For max-level Healers, this equates to 360 HPS, or 280 HPS on heroes.
Battle Conclusion
As Healers lack offensive capabilities, a battle will end if she remains the only troop on the battlefield.
Defensive Behavior
Defensive Healers do not attempt to escape poison radius and won’t heal defensive Clan Castle troops and Heroes while under the influence of poison spells.
Clash-a-rama! Series
In the Clash-a-rama! series, the Healer is portrayed as both pacifistic and opportunistic. Her activities include assisting Barbarians in Elixir refills, preventing Builders from chopping down trees, and offering healing at a lower price. Unlike her Clash of Clans appearance, the Healer in the series appears to be blind or severely myopic, even mistaking a Balloon for another Healer.
Vulnerability to Traps
Healers in Clash of Clans are susceptible to anti-air traps, although this was not the case between February 24, 2016, and August 25, 2016.
Troop Comparisons in Clash of Clans
Lack of Builder Base or Super Troop Counterparts
The Healer stands among the troops without Builder Base or Super Troop counterparts. Others in this category include the Miner, Electro Dragon, Yeti, Dragon Rider, Golem, Ice Golem, and the Headhunter.
Unique Ground-Targeting Air Troops
In the Home Village, the Healer, Balloon, Rocket Balloon, Ice Hound, and Lava Hound are distinctive air troops that exclusively target ground-based entities.
Oldest Units in the Game
The Healer, along with the Barbarian, Archer, Giant, Goblin, Wall Breaker, Balloon, Wizard, Dragon, and P.E.K.K.A, holds the honor of being among the oldest units in Clash of Clans. These iconic troops have been present since the game’s inception.
Unchanged Visuals at Higher Levels
The Healer, Wall Breaker, Minion, and Valkyrie share the unique distinction of having higher levels with no corresponding visual alterations. Despite leveling up, their appearance remains consistent.
Incomplete Army Camps Occupancy
Unlike most troops, the Healer, alongside the Valkyrie and the Yeti, does not completely fill a set of fully upgraded Army Camps. This sets them apart from other units in terms of army composition and deployment considerations.
